Michał Skibiński, a 20-year-old violinist, born in Łódź, is a student at the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź, in the class of Professor Łukasz Błaszczyk and Sławomira Wilga. He is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the Marshal of the Łódź Voivodeship Scholarship, the Rotary Club of Łódź Scholarship, the YOUNG POLAND Scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, and the Morningside Music Bridge in the United States. He has won nearly 30 awards and distinctions in national and international violin competitions.

 

From an early age, he has been developing comprehensively as a soloist and chamber musician, giving concerts both in Poland and abroad – to date, he has performed on three continents. He has participated in numerous prestigious master classes and academies in Poland and abroad, including those in Lusławice, Lundsgaard Gods (Denmark), Goch (Germany), Villars-sur-Ollon (Switzerland), and in Boston (USA), where in 2024 he took part in international music courses as one of ten selected Europeans.

 

He also performed in Japan during the World Expo 2025, presenting Polish cultural heritage. Michał has been collaborating for years
with the National Children's Fund, where, as part of the Talented Program, he has performed numerous times as a soloist and chamber musician at Łazienki Park and the Royal Castle in Warsaw. He has also performed as a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra and the Penderecki Youth Orchestra.

 

He has had the opportunity to work with professors such as Noah Bendix-Balgley, Antje Weithass, Donald Weilerstein, Ian Swensen, Margaret Batjer, members of the Danish String Quartet, and members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Michał is currently nominated for an award in the "Oars of Culture" plebiscite - a Łódź-based initiative promoting
and highlighting the most interesting young talents and creators who actively shape contemporary culture.
