Scholarship recipients

Krzysztof Wierciński was born on February 22, 2003. He began his musical education at the age of 7. He is currently a student at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the piano class of Professor Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just.

 

He is a laureate of many international and national piano competitions, winning prizes including:
- 2nd International Karol Szymanowski Competition in Katowice, 13th International Chopin Competition in Narva,
- the 5th International Chopin Competition in Rzeszów,

- the 12th International Competition for Young Pianists “Artur Rubinstein in memoriam” in Bydgoszcz,

- the 9th International Maurycy Moszkowski Piano Competition “Per aspera ad astra”

- and the 53rd National Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, which directly enabled him to participate in the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw.

 

He perfected his skills at piano master classes with outstanding artists such as Leonid Margarius, Arie Vardi, Janusz Olejniczak, Andrzej Jasiński, Elżbieta Stefańska, Dang Thai Son, Tobias Koch, Vanessa Latarche, Aleksander Gavrylyuk, Roland Krüger, Wojciech Świtała, Vincenzo Balzani, Eldar Nebolsin, Nikolai Demidenko, Ludmil Angelov and Alexei Orlovetsky.

He has given concerts throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, performing at prestigious music festivals and in numerous concert halls, including the 80th International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój, the 21st International Music Festival "Chopin and His Europe" in Warsaw, the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music in Lusławice, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the T. Baird Zielona Góra Philharmonic, the Chamber Philharmonic in Łomża, the O. Kolberg Świętokrzyska Philharmonic in Kielce, the Pomeranian Philharmonic in Bydgoszcz, the Tallinn Philharmonic in Estonia, the Polish Embassy in Vienna, the Palais Wittgenstein in Düsseldorf, the Casa Convalescencia in Barcelona, the Tyszkiewicz Palace in Užutrakis, Lithuania, and the Orangery in Parc Bagatelle in Paris. He has performed numerous times at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the Royal Łazienki Park, and Żelazowa Wola. He will also perform at the world exhibition EXPO in Dubai in 2022 and in Japan in 2025.

 

The artist made archival recordings of Karol Szymanowski's Symphony No. 4, Op. 60, for Polish Radio with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Jose Maria Florencio.

 

He is a scholarship holder of the “Young Poland 2024” program, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the National Children’s Fund in 2020-2022.
